I came across your thread as I was Googling for a solution to get Snow Leopard installed on my P965 Platinum board. I am definitely a newbie at this and am trying to figure out what I need to get this rolling. If I understand correctly, I should be able to use your boot iso to get the system booted, but then i need to get the Super VIAATA kext added after OSX installation to further allow Chameleon, is that correct? Is the Super VIAATA in the form of a script or do I have to manually add that to the installation? I would appreciate any help.

MSI P965 Platinum
4GB OCZ 1066 DDR2
Intel E4300
NVIDIA GeForce 7600GS

Buy or burn a retail dvd. (Snow Leopard, 29$). Then burn this dvd, MSI P965 Post Install.pkg. Boot with the last dvd and when its booted, pres F5 and insert the Snow Leopard retail dvd!

Ehm, you need that pkg file for installation after you booted your fresh Snow Leopard installation with the boot-dvd.

Oops, I meant your boot 312 dvd. Can you place the link?

Thank you both for your replies. This is my understanding:

1. Boot from msi p965 neo2 (ms-7235) boot cd
2. Install Snow Leopard from DVD
3. Reboot using msi p965 neo2 (ms-7235) boot cd
4. Insert P965 post install.pkg cd and run the package from the cd. (I am assuming the pkg is what contains the boot loaders).

Is this method correct?

Yes thats correct. But for 4, you can do it much easier. Place the pkg on à memorystick and install it after the boot.

I just wanted to say thank you for this forum and the work posted here. I was able to install using the boot disk listed in this thread and then running the Chameleon installer from the InsanelyMac forums. Now I can boot from the hard drive and I ran the post install package from there. But I still do not have sound. I have the Realtek ALC883 audio, and I have looked at InsanelyMac forums for the older install packages. Do you know if there is a newer kext that I need to use for 10.6 or if those packages still work for enabling sound?

I think that the audio works with VoodooHDA.

moet ik als ik deze wil toepassen mac osx wel opnieuw instaleren dan?
als ik het goed heb begrepen is die chipset image ook gelijk een bootloader?
jij zei in de OP dat ethernet het out of the box doet, maar bij mij nog niet...

Deze cd zou alleen in staat zijn je retail DVD te laten booten, door deze schijf te branden en hem precies hetzelfde te gebruiken als empire efi.
